AAUW witchcraft talk

I’ll be doing a slideshow presentation on witchcraft and discussing its history, at the new member luncheon for the Gilroy branch of the American Association of University Women. All are welcome. Event starts at 12:30 and runs until 2:00. There is a fee for the lunch; please visit http://www.gilroyaauw.org/html/fall_memebership_lunch_2011.html for details.

Radio interview with Ken Hudnall

I’ll be interviewed on Ken Hudnall‘s radio show out of El Paso. He focuses on the paranormal. You can listen to it live-streaming here at 5-6 p.m. PST on Wed., Nov. 8.

Guest Blogging at the Graveyard Shift

I’ll be guest blogging at Lee Lofland’s blog The Graveyard Shift. Lee’s an amazing writer, nominated for a Macavity award. Since his blog focuses on cops and robbers, my guest blog will address medieval inquisitors as the “cops” of their day–what methods they use, how they extract confessions, etc.

Litquake, San Francisco

I'll be reading in the "Around the World in 60 Minutes" hour, taking place from 12pm to 1pm
on Saturday, October 4th (I think I must be representing Germany!)

Readers that hour will include:

  Nguyen Do
  Malena Watrous
  Siddharth Shanghvi
  Niloufar Talebi
  Zoë Ferraris
  Saikat Majumdar
  Erika Mailman

Takes place at the Koret Auditorium, San Francisco Main Public Library,
100 Larkin Street (BART station is Civic Center). This is always a really fun way to
hear snippets--great for our short attention spans. I've been directed to read for
exactly six minutes. This is my third year with Litquake (fourth?) and it's always funny
to watch people go over their time and have someone in the front row waving furiously
at them to stop. They need an orchestra like the Oscars!

The readings continue in hour-long segments all day.

After the reading, Books Inc. Opera Plaza store (3 blocks from the Main Library) will
host an author book signing and reception for Koret readers immediately following the
final hour, starting at 5:30pm.
